Billy Davies on Barnsley Draw
Sat 04 Apr 2009
Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies had praise for fans and players alike after a superb performance saw them take a point from their game at Barnsley.
But Davies thought they deserved all three points, telling us: "We deserved to win, we bossed the first 45 minutes, we moved the ball around well and competed well.
"Their goal was unfortunate but we didn't defend properly. It was a great penalty save from Turner and we had four or five chances after that.
"The players were outstanding in their performance and attitude and the reaction of the supporters at the end of the game showed that.
"The fans were magnificent today, their support from start to finish was absolutely outstanding and I want to thank you all very much."
The manager also had praise for Lewis McGugan after being critical of his weight and fitness a few weeks ago, adding: "Lewis deserves great credit with the way he has reacted, he has worked very hard."
Both McGugan and Nathan Tyson picked up knocks during the game but the manager was hopeful that neither injury was serious.
