| Forest Challenge Barnsley Ticket Prices Tue 24 Mar 2009 Nottingham Forest have made representations, asking why their fans are being charged a lot more than home supporters for the game against Barnsley a week on Saturday.
Barnsley are billing the game as a 'local promotion' in which they charge £5 for admission but the offer does not extend to Forest fans, who are being faced with buying tickets for £19.
When the sides met at The City Ground last November Forest charged £10 per ticket - an offer that was extended to the visiting supporters from Yorkshire.
But although Forest have challenged Barnsley on the issue and also asked the Football League to investigate, it seems there is nothing that can be done about the different price structure.
Said a Forest spokesman: "We just wanted to do the best by our supporters. We were happy to make a gesture to Barnsley fans earlier in the season and it is extremely disappointing that is has not been reciprocated.
"But we have been informed by the Football League that it is the clubs themselves who determine the regulations and there is nothing we can do about the issue. We will, however, learn from the experience."
Let's pray we stuff em at a packed Oakwell stadium and the Yorkshire miser's can stick there forest for a fiver tickets where the sun don't shine .

| where To Drink? Paul Sammon, a lifelong Tyke, recommends the Outpost on Sheffield Road. The pub is a ten minute walk from the ground. Ricardo Marconi a visiting Birmingham City fan recommends; 'The Holleywell Inn, on the Oakwell Road near to the old Barnsley Brewery. A friendly boozer with a good mix of home and away fans'. Gary Holding a visiting Blackburn supporter adds; 'A few minutes walk from the away end is the Metro Dome - an all in one leisure centre, which has a bar inside which serves good food and ale'. Drinking in the town centre is generally not recommended, especially near the Bus & Train Stations, although on my last visit I had a hassle free pint (or two) in the Wetherpoons in the centre of town, but I should point out that I wasn't wearing colours. Alcohol is available in the away end, when the whole of the stand is allocated to away supporters. Unfortunately if the stand is split between home and away fans, then the only bar on the concourse sits on the home side. hope this helps dude wish i was going as well !!!! | |
